At Industrial Industrial Power Tools UK, we are committed to minimizing the environmental impact of electrical waste. As a professional trade supplier, we actively adhere to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations, ensuring that the batteries and electrical components in our range of power tools are disposed of safely and responsibly.
Understanding WEEE Regulations
The WEEE directive is UK law, requiring producers to cover the cost of collecting, treating, and recovering waste electrical equipment. As a supplier, Industrial Industrial Power Tools UK is obligated to allow our customers to return their waste electrical equipment for proper disposal at no additional cost when they purchase new equipment from us.
Each year, the amount of WEEE waste grows by approximately 5%, making it the fastest-growing waste stream in the UK. Unfortunately, much of this waste ends up in landfills, where hazardous materials like lead can contaminate the soil and water, harming wildlife, natural habitats, and human health. However, many electrical products and batteries can be fully recycled, reducing the need for natural resources and minimizing environmental risks.
Our Role in Reducing WEEE Waste
As a reputable distributor of battery-powered and corded power tools, Industrial Industrial Power Tools UK is committed to reducing WEEE waste. We offer a free take-back service for WEEE products on a like-for-like basis when you purchase new electrical tools or accessories from us.
For example, when you buy a new power tool or a spare battery, you can return your old, worn-out tool to us within 28 days, ensuring it is recycled instead of going to landfill. Customers are responsible for the return costs, but we also encourage you to use local recycling centres, which are conveniently located across the UK. Visit www.recycle-more.co.uk for advice on where to find your nearest Designated Collection Facility (DCF).
Working with Recycling Partners

We have partnered with William Tracey Recycling and Resource Management Group, a fully certified waste management company, to ensure that every tool and battery collected is professionally recycled. Every 8 to 10 weeks, we ship collected items to their facilities for proper recycling and resource recovery.
All new electrical products sold by Industrial Industrial Power Tools UK are marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol, as required by WEEE regulations since August 2005. This symbol indicates that the product must be disposed of through recycling, not general waste.
By returning your old tools and batteries for proper recycling, you’re helping to protect the environment and ensure a healthier future for generations to come. Together, we can make a real difference by reducing industrial pollution and conserving natural resources.
